https://agbeat.com/editorials/75-big-brokers-to-refuse-adding-listings-to-mls-forming-alternative-mls/

Recently, the invitation-only Realty Alliance bi-annual conference took place with no members of the press in sight. The Realty Alliance network of elite real estate firms is comprised of top brokers across America and Canada and accounts for a large share of the real estate industry. Although press was not invited, various sources have told AGBeat that the destination of Realty Alliance member data continues to be highly contentious. This spring, Realty Alliance was influential in the shaping of IDX rules and sources tell AGBeat that the group came together on the topic of data use at the most recent conference, with roughly 75 top brokers allegedly discussing seceding from their MLS, and banding together to build a national MLS run by brokers to exclude Zillow, Trulia and other media companies like Realtor-backed Realtor.com.

I could use some ACRE help

Lynn Friedman posted a blog on Active Rain that could use some Acre"ish" comments if you'd so desire.  Thanks mollie or your entry!

I just posted a blog at Active Rain that I hope you'll take a look at. It's basically the story of a homeseller who is being pressured to reduce the price on her home without any coherent explanation (in fact, the only justification the agent gave the seller was that since she had equity in the home, she could afford to reduce it!).  https://activerain.com/blogsview/2564235/read-this-before-your-next-price-reduction-recommendation-

It's this sort of nonsense that gives the general public the (sadly, often correct) impression that real estate agents aren't worth the fees they charge. As Mollie said in her comment - WAKE UP real estate industry! If we don't insist on professionalism among our ranks, the public will find a different way to buy and sell real estate and it won't include us! And perhaps, deservedly so!

Okay, rant over ;-]

I think you all will find this post very interesting and I hope our voices will be heard loud and clear in support of the retainer. Please comment.

Public Relations Web

I have engaged PR Web to do daily press releases regarding Nucazza, Family Abstract and the Home Buying Evolution.  I am inviting ALL ACRES to write a press release regarding anything that shows consulting is working, gaining traction, having successes, etc.  These should be 450 words, minumum.  I will place them on the PR WEB machine so we can all get some benefits.  The ACRE link, your own link and the Nucazza link should be included.  Any questions, hit me up.

Becoming a Broker

Hello fellow ACERs.

I am aware of the requirements to become a Broker. I am looking to speak/email with someone that can go over the costs associated with opening my own company as a broker independent of a franchise.

Any information or help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

A hundred An Acre IS Cheap!

Last week we received a notice from Mollie looking to continue the movement by charging a small fee moving forward.  The industry council was kind enough to omit the industry partners from the fee.  This rubs me a bit like congress and politics, both of which I know are off limits on blogging.  Why would the industry partners, that have the most to gain be given a pass?  I'm not arguing with the perverbial gift horse in my mouth, but my money will be leaving Nucaza and arriving at Acre.  My feeling is that your industry partners are helping to strenghten the ACRE foundations, so please use my hundred to continue to build the real estate foundation for the future.

I came across this video that talks about ways to generate consulting revenue in commercial real estate. The link is below:

I think it is worth watching.

Cartoon about America in 1948

9 minutes and worth watching!!!!

Not directly about real estate consulting, but you may enjoy it.

It’s incredible that this 1948 cartoon has come this close to depicting our current day situation. It’s worth your time.
Every person in the USA should see this !

This was forecast 62 years ago.

What can a cartoon produced in 1948, teach us today, that’s of any value? You’d be very surprised!

Pay close attention! Keep in mind this was done in ’1948′. Keep telling yourself that as you view it.

This is one of the best I have ever seen.

This should be viewed by every AMERICAN.

Apple - Think Different AdI just posted a new article that I've been pondering for a couple of weeks on the Times Community and Active Rain.

I hope you will take a few minutes to add your thoughts, particularly on A/R where your input has the exposure to make a real difference.
