UPDATE on the TRANSITION - The New ACRE Course

Lots and lots still going on behind the scenes and I think I'm finally seeing the end zone (and not from my own 2 yard line).

This is the first of a few posts I'll be creating today updating all of you on our progress. This post is about the ACRE® designation course.

The new ACRE® designation course is nearly complete. It's housed on a professional-grade learning management system which gives us the ability to create an enhanced learning experience with quizzes and project assignments and other goodies I probably haven't discovered yet. It's looking good if I do say so myself and I'm anxious to release it, although that won't be for a few more months as we put other pieces and parts into place.

The new course is completely different from the old one. Of course, it covers similar material (!), but it's presented in a different way and takes more of an Apply What You've Learned approach. There is much more DOING and much less reading, and by the end of the course, students should be ready to Go Forth and Consult; in fact, they have to prove that they are in order to receive their designation.

The course is divided into three modules. The first is an introduction to the concept and philosophy of consulting, the second is a step-by-step guide to creating your Strategic Focus (who you will serve and what services you will offer) and the third is about setting your rates and fees.

At the end of the designation course, students will be required to submit a business plan for their own personal consulting practice and to attest whether ot not they intend to incorporate consulting (on some level) into their real estate business.

Existing ACRE® won't be required to take the course to keep their ACRE® designation; however, we will eventually be putting requirements into place that "grandfather'ed" ACRE®s must submit a business plan and attest that they are offering consulting services in order to appear on the ACRE® Locator as a practicing consultant.

If existing ACRE®s want to take the designation course, they certainly may, and we'll offer special pricing to our current ACRE® graduates to do so.

Of course, these details are subject to change up until the release date (and beyond!), but that's where we are today.

Questions? Comments? Bring 'em on!

Having just checked out the first module, I can tell you that what Jennifer has created is fantastic! She has taken much of the material but presented it in a way that provides a lot of clarity and is much easier than sitting down and reading through a coursebook. Kudos Jennifer!

Awwwww, thanks Mollie. You know how much that means to me!!

It sounds great.  I love that hands on approach.  Thanks
